Add/Remove
Programs

You can go to "Start"
"Settings"
"Control Panel"
Double Click on "Add/Remove Programs"

or In your Explore Window, Just Scroll down to "Control Panel" and
Double Click on "Add/Remove Programs"

See it top row, center

After double clicking on "Add/Remove Programs"
You'll get this:

To "Install" a program from Floppy or CD,
Just click on "Install" button towards the top right and have the Floppy or CD ready and follow the directions. Just read them. They will ask you questions sometimes.
Like if you might want "Normal" or "Customize" Components you want to install.
If you are New, I recommend you use the Normal Installation.

Note:
It seems that most CD Rom Program Installations start by themselves. Just pop it in and see. They usually come with some directions. Follow Yours.

To Remove a Program:
Scroll down to the program you want to uninstall and click on the "Add/Remove" button on the bottom right.

You will more than likely get a box pop up saying that certain files are not being used by any program it can find, but if you delete them, it may impact one or more programs.
I've found that just deleting them all has not hurt.
I may have had to reinstall a program, but if I have, I don't remember. I do this stuff so automatically now, that I just can't remember.
So, Your Option Buttons will be:

"Yes"
"Yes to All"
"No"
"No to All"
I use "Yes to All". I assume if it works for me, it will work for you.
If you have a program that doesn't work after that, just reinstall it. That will fix it, and you don't have a bunch of files taking up space.

Now, you notice in the "Add/Remove" Screenshot, that I have

"Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and Internet Tools"
Highlited.
I just learned this
If you Click on the Remove, it doesn't remove it.
You can

"Add a Component"
"Repair Your IE Explorer"
"Restore the Previous Windows Configuration"
If you are having problems viewing Web Pages,
just click on "Repair" and it will fix the problems

Also, Notice the Third Tab in "Add/Remove Programs" Screenshot
"Startup Disk"

You can make a Floppy in case your PC has problems rebooting by going there.
