Saving a File
Easy Enough! {smiles}
You just got a photo in E-Mail.
You open it and you see something like below

Thank You, James & Nancy O'Brien of Poetry in Focus
(fellow designers and "resident" photographers for Just for You E-Greetings)
for supplying me with the beautiful photo attachment)
If you "Right Click" on the "Filename" next to "Attach"
Or you can "Right Click" on the photo itself
You'll get a little "dropdown" list
Look for "Save As" and Click
You Should see something very similar to this
If you want to save it on a Floppy, just Click on "Floppy"
Make sure you see "Floppy" in the blue box
If you don't see "Floppy" right there
Click on the little "thingie" in the red box
And Scroll Up to "Floppy"
Then "Save"
If you want to put it in the Photo Folder we made for You in "My Documents"
When we were in Making a Folder
Double Click on C: (or your harddrive)
and Look for "My Documents" and Double Click
Find the "Your Name" Folder we made
Double Click it
Now Double Click "Photos"
If you want to Rename it, type the name in the red area in screenshot as above
Next to "Filename"
Making SURE to KEEP the SAME Extension
(the 3 letters after the period, make sure the period is there too)
Like I might "Rename" this one "Red_582a.jpg"
Keeping the .jpg in tact
If it is NOT a .jpg extension when you get it, don't save it like that.
Save it with the .ext (extension) it came with
Click on "Save"
If You've been looking around, you'll start seeing that most of this stuff is "basic repetition".
Once You know how to put things where YOU WANT, so You can find them again, it sure makes things a lot easier.
Being able to "Find" anything and everything on your PC, really makes you feel like you are in "command" of your PC, and not it leading you around wherever it wants to go.
Note:
When you install a program, it usually goes to the "directory" it will work best in.
Unless there is a specific reason you don't want it there,
Let it go. {smiles}
Just an observation
